Yes, for all travelers who are on a tight schedule, we offer a Cliff Picnic – which can also be transformed into a Cliff Dinner, a Cliff Coffee & Cake, or a Cliff Tea Time. Just send us an email (hello@estangard.com), let us know what you’d like to do and how much time you’ve got and we’ll create something just for you.

Yes, it’s possible, both, before or after. But please keep in mind that Trolltunga is a very long hike and can get very strenuous or even dangerous depending on the weather and the season. We recommend taking the overnight tour with Trolltunga Active or Trolltunga Adventures if you wish to do Cliff Camping before or after Trolltunga. Alternatively, we can also organize a Cliff Picnic or Dinner for you where you just get a taste of Cliff Camping without actually spending the night. If in doubt, just reach out to us (hello@estangard.com), we’re happy to give some advice.

The indicated price of 6,600 NOK is per tent, which can host up to two people.

You are very welcome to join by yourself! When booking, you just take a whole tent for yourself, which is the same price for 2 people.

We provide you with a radio so you can call your guide who will secure you and assist you to get out and back into the cliff tent.

As mentioned in our product description, we are out in nature and we want to keep our impact as low as possible, therefore the toilet solution is very basic.
It’s basically a latrine – very outdoorsy and viking-like 😉

In Norway, you quickly get to learn: “there’s no such thing as bad weather”. We have a small shelter against wind and rain where we can comfortably sit and eat. The hanging tents have a rain cover and are very stable even if it’s windy. We provide you with the latest weather forecast one day before your tour so make sure you pack and dress accordingly. If you feel uncomfortable with the weather, you can always change to a different date if we have availability. When “uncomfortable” weather turns into dangerous weather we might have to cancel the tour or move it to a different date, both of which you will be informed beforehand – in case you can’t come on a different date, you get a full refund from us.

On most days we’re flexible with timings so just send us an email and we’ll try our best to adapt to your schedule

You don’t need to bring any camping, climbing or safety equipment. We will provide you with everything you need. For what you need to bring, just check the list provided.

Yes, the maximum weight per hanging tent is 200 kg / 441 lbs.

Every outdoor activity involves a certain risk – Cliff Camping not more than hiking in the mountains. But yes, we’ll make sure to keep you safe. Your guide will make you aware of potential risks and help you to avoid them. In case something happens, all guides are trained first aiders and carry relevant equipment. The tents have a double security system and as long as you are staying in the tent, you need to keep your harness on you with a rope attached to a third security point that is independent from the tent. So as long as you make sure that you are attached at all times, you’re safe.

Depending on the weather and your personal “sure-footedness”, you should wear comfortable hiking or walking shoes. The path to our camp goes over uneven and rough terrain.

Please let us know via email (hello@estangard.com) if you have any food intolerances or allergies and we will adapt dinner and breakfast accordingly.

That depends on the weather and the time of the year. Generally the tents hang in a position that provide great sunset or star views if the weather allows for it. The summers are very bright in Norway so if you come for sunset or the starry sky, we recommend the shoulder seasons between March/April and September/October. Northern lights are very rare in the south of Norway, they can be seen every now and then, but I wouldn’t count on it.

We take photos, not professional ones, we are guides, not photographers. But they are included. We’re happy to use your device or our own phone, go pro or insta360 camera.
