It is a beautiful and relaxed activity, a slow mindful walk through the forest, a digital detox. You learn how to be fully present in the moment, focus on your different senses, and how to calm down by immersing yourself in nature. With our Nordic twist to this activity, we’ll dive deeper into the connection of the Norse people with their forests throughout their history and mythology.

Forest Bathing can be done with or without a guide. Many people struggle to really disconnect though. Your guide helps to bring you back into the present moment, should your mind drift off, he/she offers inspiration and invitations, creates awareness and mindfulness that you might struggle to find by yourself.

Only a very basic level of physical fitness is required, the walk is slow and we get to sit down often. However, it leads us through uneven terrain, partly off the path and up- or downhill. However, we can adapt the route to your group’s personal fitness level.

No, nothing special. Since we are moving very slowly, please make sure you dress warmly – warmer than you would on a normal hike. The soil in the forest is often moist so waterproofs are not a bad idea. Bring extra layers if in doubt. We also recommend bringing a bottle of water and any personal medication if needed.

No, please make sure you use the toilet before coming to the meeting point. In case you need to go during the tour, you can use the vast forest around us – your guide carries some paper and a bag to put the paper in after use.

You can bring both, but we will ask you not to use it during the tour as it creates a distraction for yourself and the others. We highly recommend leaving it at home or in your car so you truly get to disconnect while out in the forest. If you decide to bring it, we will ask you to switch it off or put it on silent/flight mode.

Towards the end of the tour we will have a small tea session and provide some small snacks. Please let us know beforehand (hello@estangardneu-q16th4pofk.live-website.com) if you have any allergies or intolerances.

No, you don’t need to hug a tree on this tour. You’re welcome to, but we won’t force you.

The minimum age is 16. The tour is designed to be quiet and peaceful and you will sometimes be asked to be super silent and still which can get very boring for children and dogs. If you would like to have a similar kind of tour with your whole family, we are happy to create a more interactive and educational tour that includes some games and activities that are more suitable for children… and dogs. Just send us an email and we’ll see how we can get you out there all together (hello@estangardneu-q16th4pofk.live-website.com).
